ITINERARY
Your adventure begins with a convenient pickup from your hotel in Cusco at 8:00 a.m. After this, we will transfer you to the minivan station, where you can enjoy complimentary snacks, coffee, milk, water, and coca leaves while you wait. Next, we embark on a scenic 2-hour drive to the Ollantaytambo train station. During this journey, you’ll be treated to picturesque landscapes that set the stage for the next leg of your trip.
At Ollantaytambo, you will board the scenic tourist train bound for Aguas Calientes. This 2-hour train ride offers breathtaking views of the Andean mountains and ancient Inca ruins along the classic Inca Trail. Enjoy a comfortable and panoramic ride, taking in stunning vistas that enhance your journey.
Upon arrival at the Aguas Calientes train station, our team will meet you and transfer you to your hotel.
From 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., you will have free time to explore Aguas Calientes at your leisure. You can visit the charming butterfly sanctuary, relax in the local hot springs, or browse through the handicrafts market. Immerse yourself in the local culture and enjoy these delightful activities before the evening.
Around 6:00 p.m., join us for a delicious group dinner. We will introduce your guide and provide details about your exciting visit to Machu Picchu the following day.

Start your day with an early wake-up call at 4:00 a.m. The group will begin the trek to Machu Picchu, where your guide will meet you at the entrance. Enjoy the breathtaking sunrise over the ancient ruins. The hike to the citadel takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Once you reach Machu Picchu, your guide will provide a comprehensive 2-hour tour, offering insights into the rich history and significance of this incredible site. After the guided tour, you’ll have free time to explore Machu Picchu at your leisure.
Explore at Your Own Pace
You can spend as much time as you like exploring the citadel. Consider climbing one of the nearby mountains, Machu Picchu Mountain or Huayna Picchu, but be sure to book these in advance. Additionally, you can visit the Sun Gate and the Inca Bridge, which are free to access.
After your exploration, walk back down to Aguas Calientes. You can visit the Machu Picchu Museum on your way (entry included in your ticket). Retrieve your backpack from the hotel and board the train back to Ollantaytambo.
From Ollantaytambo, we will continue our journey by bus to Cusco. We expect to drop you off at San Francisco Square in Cusco around 9:30 p.m. Please note that the exact arrival time may vary depending on your train schedule and selected train option.

Daily Departures
We offer daily departures for the Machu Picchu by train tour. The weather in the region is generally dry throughout the year, but from December to April, you may encounter brief rain showers that usually don’t impact your experience. Since Machu Picchu is located at a lower elevation on the other side of the Andes, daytime temperatures hover around 25°C, while nights can drop to about 13°C.
