ITINERARY
Our journey commences with a hotel pickup between 6:45 and 7:00 a.m. Following that, we will head to the Sacred Valley. Our first stop is the picturesque colonial city of Chinchero, where you can participate in a lively craft workshop, visit the Chinchero archaeological center, and stroll around the plaza. Thus, you will spend approximately 30 minutes immersing yourself in each of these intriguing sites.
After Chinchero, we will continue to Maras, Moray, and Salinas (salt mines). We will spend about 20 minutes at each of these captivating locations. For example, at Moray, you can admire the fascinating Terrazas de Moray, famous for its expansive natural depressions. Then, at Salinas de Maras, you will explore the ancient salt mines that were vital for Inca trade and prosperity.
Around noon, we will travel to the Urubamba Valley for a delightful 40-minute buffet lunch. Subsequently, we will visit the Ollantaytambo Fortress, where you can see the impressive Temple of the Sun, an essential defensive site during the Inca civil war. Likewise, this visit will last about 30 minutes.
Our next destination is Pisac, an important archaeological center in the region. Here, you will explore its magnificent temples, palaces, and well-preserved terraces featuring impressive aqueducts. After experiencing these remarkable sites, we will return to Cusco, arriving around 7:30 p.m.
